Neck lift surgery in Turkey
A neck lift is a surgical procedure designed to improve visible signs of ageing beneath the jawline and through the neck. It can address loose skin, tissue laxity and reduced definition between the jaw and neck.
Ageing in this area is not always caused by excess skin alone. Changes in deeper tissues, muscle, fat distribution and skin quality can all affect the appearance of the neck. For this reason, the appropriate surgical approach depends on what is actually causing the concern.
At EsteTurkey Group in Istanbul, neck lift planning begins with an individual assessment of your face, jawline and neck. The aim is to create a more defined and balanced contour while maintaining a natural relationship between the face and neck.
What can a neck lift improve?
Patients often consider neck lift surgery when the neck begins to look less defined despite the rest of the face still appearing relatively youthful.
A neck lift may help improve:
- Loose or sagging skin beneath the chin
- Loss of jawline definition
- Tissue laxity through the neck
- A less defined angle between the chin and neck
- Visible neck bands in suitable cases
- Excess fullness beneath the chin when appropriate
- Ageing that creates an imbalance between the face and neck
Not every concern in this area requires the same operation. Excess fat, loose skin and deeper tissue laxity require different approaches, which is why assessment is important before deciding on surgery.
Who is a good candidate for neck lift surgery?
You may be a suitable candidate for a neck lift if loose skin or tissue laxity has reduced the definition of your neck and jawline and the change cannot be adequately addressed with non-surgical treatments.
There is no specific age at which someone “needs” a neck lift. Suitability depends more on your anatomy, degree of laxity, skin quality, general health and expectations.
Some patients have significant neck ageing while the face remains relatively well defined. Others have ageing across both areas and may benefit more from treating the lower face and neck together.
Your medical history, previous procedures, medications and nicotine use are also considered when determining whether surgery is appropriate.
How is neck lift surgery performed?
Neck lift surgery is performed under general anaesthesia.
The exact surgical technique varies according to the patient's anatomy and the cause of the neck ageing. Depending on the treatment plan, surgery may involve repositioning deeper tissues, addressing the platysma muscle, removing or repositioning excess fat where appropriate and redraping excess skin.
Incisions are planned according to the technique being used and are generally positioned around the ear and, when required, beneath the chin.
The aim is not simply to pull the skin tighter. A balanced result depends on addressing the structures responsible for the loss of neck definition while avoiding unnecessary tension on the skin.
Can neck lift surgery treat a double chin?
Sometimes, but the cause of the fullness needs to be identified first.
A “double chin” can result from excess fat beneath the chin, loose skin, deeper anatomical structures or a combination of these factors.
In some patients, liposuction may be appropriate for excess fat. In others, removing fat alone would not address significant skin or tissue laxity and could potentially make looseness more noticeable.
This is why photographs and an individual assessment are necessary before recommending neck lift surgery, liposuction or a combination of techniques.
Neck lift recovery: what should you expect?
Swelling, bruising, tightness and temporary changes in sensation can occur during the early stages of recovery.
These are usually most noticeable during the first days and gradually improve over the following weeks. The neck can continue to feel firm or swollen even after the most visible signs of surgery have reduced.
Patients should avoid judging the final contour too early. Residual swelling continues to settle gradually, and incision lines also change as scars mature.
Your surgeon and medical team will provide instructions regarding sleeping position, activity, wound care and any postoperative support required for your individual procedure.
Your neck lift journey in Istanbul
Your treatment begins with an in-person consultation and pre-operative tests after arriving in Istanbul. This gives your surgeon an opportunity to examine the face and neck directly and confirm the surgical plan before the operation.
Surgery is normally scheduled for the following day.
After your hospital stay, you will continue your early recovery at the hotel. Our nursing team visits you daily during this period to monitor your progress and assist with postoperative care.
You will also have scheduled follow-up assessments before travelling home.
For facial surgery, we generally recommend allowing enough time in Istanbul for the surgeon to monitor the important early stages of healing. Your exact recommended stay will be confirmed according to your individual operation.
Our team remains available after you return home so that your recovery can continue to be followed remotely.
Neck lift before and after
Before-and-after photographs are particularly useful when considering neck lift surgery because they show changes in jawline definition, skin laxity and the transition between the face and neck.
However, timing matters. Early postoperative photographs may still show swelling and should not be interpreted as a final result.
We recommend looking at several real patient cases rather than expecting your result to match one particular photograph. Anatomy, skin quality and the starting degree of laxity are different for every patient.
Where are neck lift scars?
The location of neck lift scars depends on the surgical technique required.
Incisions may be positioned around the natural contours of the ear and, in some techniques, a small incision may also be placed beneath the chin.
Scars are initially more visible and change gradually as healing progresses. Scar maturation can continue for many months, and individual healing varies.
No surgical scar can be guaranteed to become completely invisible.
How long do neck lift results last?
Neck lift surgery can create long-lasting improvement, but it cannot stop the natural ageing process.
Your neck will continue to age after surgery. Skin quality, anatomy, lifestyle, weight changes and the extent of the original procedure can all influence how the result evolves over time.
Your surgeon can give you a more individual expectation after examining your face and neck.
How much does a neck lift cost in Turkey?
The cost of neck lift surgery in Turkey depends on the treatment required.
A patient who needs an isolated neck procedure does not necessarily require the same operation as someone with significant ageing of both the lower face and neck. Additional procedures and the extent of surgery can therefore affect the final price.
At EsteTurkey Group, your photographs and medical information are reviewed before a treatment plan and individual quotation are provided.
This allows the quotation to reflect the procedure actually recommended for you rather than offering the same surgical package to every patient.

Start with an individual neck lift assessment
Loose skin beneath the chin does not automatically mean you need a neck lift, and fullness beneath the chin does not automatically mean you need liposuction.
The first step is identifying what is actually creating the change you see.
Send us your photographs and medical information for an initial assessment. Our medical team can review your case and advise whether a neck lift, facelift, liposuction or another approach may be appropriate.
Questions about your own case? A coordinator replies personally, usually the same day.
