Mommy makeover surgery in Turkey
A mommy makeover is not one specific operation. It is a personalised combination of breast and body procedures performed to address several areas within one surgical plan.
Although the name is commonly associated with changes after pregnancy and breastfeeding, the concept can also be relevant to patients who have experienced significant weight loss or other changes in body shape.
A mommy makeover may include tummy tuck, liposuction and breast surgery, but the exact combination depends entirely on the patient's anatomy and goals.
At EsteTurkey Group in Istanbul, each area is assessed individually before deciding which procedures should—or should not—be combined.
What procedures can be included in a mommy makeover?
A mommy makeover may include a combination of:
- Tummy tuck
- FDL tummy tuck in selected patients
- 360 liposuction or targeted liposuction
- Breast lift
- Breast augmentation
- Breast lift with implants
- Breast reduction
Not every patient needs all of these procedures.
For example, one patient may require tummy tuck with 360 liposuction and breast lift, while another may need tummy tuck and breast augmentation without a lift.
The purpose of the consultation is to determine which combination actually addresses your concerns rather than fitting every patient into the same package.
Who is a good candidate for a mommy makeover?
You may consider a mommy makeover if you have changes affecting more than one area of the body and would like to explore whether they can be addressed within the same surgical plan.
Common concerns include loose abdominal skin, changes in breast shape or volume, abdominal muscle separation and localised areas of fat.
Candidates should be medically suitable for the proposed combination of procedures and have realistic expectations about surgery and recovery.
Your weight should ideally be relatively stable before surgery.
Your BMI, medical history, medications, smoking or nicotine use, previous operations and the extent of surgery required are all considered before a combined operation is recommended.
Do I have to be a mother to have a mommy makeover?
No.
“Mommy makeover” is simply the commonly used name for a combination of breast and body-contouring procedures.
Although many patients seek this surgery following pregnancy and breastfeeding, similar changes can occur following significant weight loss or natural changes in the body.
The surgical plan is based on your anatomy and concerns—not whether you have had children.
What happens to the abdomen after pregnancy?
Pregnancy can affect the abdomen in several different ways.
The skin may stretch and lose elasticity, the abdominal muscles can separate and fat distribution may change.
Exercise can strengthen the abdominal muscles and weight loss can reduce body fat, but neither can remove significant excess skin.
When loose abdominal skin or abdominal wall changes remain, tummy tuck surgery may be considered.
What breast surgery can be included?
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes and ageing can affect breast volume, skin and position differently.
This means there is no single breast operation used for every mommy makeover.
If breast position has changed but there is sufficient natural volume, a breast lift without implants may be appropriate.
If additional volume is desired, breast augmentation or a breast lift with implants may be considered.
Patients with heavy or disproportionately large breasts may instead benefit from breast reduction.
The breast procedure should therefore be selected according to the patient's existing breast tissue and desired result rather than automatically adding implants.
Do I need breast implants with a mommy makeover?
No.
Implants are not a standard requirement for mommy makeover surgery.
Some patients want to restore or add breast volume and choose implants. Others already have sufficient breast tissue and primarily need the breast repositioned through a lift.
The decision depends on your existing breast volume, skin quality, breast position and the result you want.
If you are unsure, photographs can be assessed before your consultation to determine which options are worth discussing with the surgeon.
Can a mommy makeover include 360 liposuction?
Yes, in suitable patients.
Tummy tuck primarily addresses loose abdominal skin, while liposuction can contour selected areas of fat around the abdomen, waist, flanks and back.
For patients who have both skin laxity and unwanted fat around the torso, combining these procedures may create a more complete body-contouring plan.
However, the amount and extent of liposuction must be considered alongside the other procedures being performed.
Mommy makeover after weight loss
Mommy makeover surgery can also be considered after significant weight loss.
These patients may have loose abdominal skin, loss of breast volume, breast sagging and excess skin affecting other parts of the body.
In patients with substantial abdominal skin laxity, a standard tummy tuck may not always provide sufficient correction.
An FDL tummy tuck may sometimes be recommended when loose skin extends significantly through the central and upper abdomen.
Patients following major weight loss therefore require particularly individual planning, as the extent and distribution of excess skin can vary considerably.
Can all procedures be performed in one surgery?
One of the most important parts of mommy makeover planning is deciding not only which procedures are needed, but also which procedures can safely be performed together.
The number and extent of procedures, expected operating time, medical history, BMI and individual risk factors all need to be considered.
In some patients, the desired procedures can be combined within one operation.
In others, it may be safer or more appropriate to divide treatment into separate stages.
At EsteTurkey Group, the surgical plan is determined after medical assessment rather than automatically combining every procedure requested.
Mommy makeover recovery: what should you expect?
Recovery depends heavily on the procedures included.
A patient having tummy tuck, liposuction and breast surgery will have a different recovery from someone undergoing a smaller combination.
Swelling, bruising, tightness and discomfort are expected during the early period.
Following tummy tuck surgery, standing completely upright may initially feel difficult because of tension across the abdominal area. Mobility improves gradually as healing progresses.
Compression garments and, where appropriate, breast support garments are worn according to the postoperative plan.
Patients should also expect restrictions on lifting, exercise and strenuous activity during early recovery.
Because several areas may be healing simultaneously, planning adequate support and recovery time is especially important after combined surgery.
How should I sleep after a mommy makeover?
Sleeping position depends on the combination of procedures performed.
After tummy tuck surgery, patients are often advised to sleep in a slightly flexed position during the early recovery period to reduce tension across the abdominal incision.
Breast surgery may also require sleeping on your back and avoiding pressure on the operated area.
Your medical team will explain the appropriate sleeping position for your specific combination before you leave the hospital.
Your mommy makeover journey in Istanbul
Your treatment begins with an in-person consultation and pre-operative tests after you arrive in Istanbul.
During your consultation, the surgeon reassesses the areas being treated and confirms the final surgical plan.
Surgery is normally performed the following day.
For larger combined procedures, patients typically remain in hospital during the initial postoperative period before continuing recovery at the hotel.
During hotel recovery, our team provides daily nurse visits and coordinates your scheduled surgeon follow-ups.
Your package also includes the required postoperative medications and garments, together with your hotel and VIP transfers.
For tummy tuck and breast combinations, we generally plan approximately 8-9 nights in Istanbul, although the exact stay is confirmed according to the procedures included and your individual surgical plan.
Mommy makeover before and after
Mommy makeover before-and-after photographs should be viewed according to the procedures included in each case.
One patient's result may show tummy tuck, 360 liposuction and breast lift, while another may include breast implants or a different abdominal procedure.
For this reason, comparing yourself with a patient who had a completely different starting anatomy or surgical combination can be misleading.
Look at patients with similar concerns and pay attention to photographs from the front, side and back when body contouring is involved.
Early results may still show swelling and scars that have not yet matured.
Where are mommy makeover scars?
Scars depend on the procedures included.
A tummy tuck creates a horizontal scar across the lower abdomen. An FDL tummy tuck also creates a vertical abdominal scar.
Breast lift and breast reduction procedures involve breast incisions whose pattern depends on the amount of lifting or tissue removal required.
Liposuction uses much smaller access incisions.
Scars are permanent, but their colour and appearance generally change as healing progresses.
Your surgeon will explain the expected scar pattern for each procedure before surgery.
When will I see my final mommy makeover result?
You will notice changes relatively early, but swelling means the initial appearance is not the final result.
Body swelling gradually decreases over the following weeks and months. Breast shape also continues to settle, while tummy tuck and breast scars mature over a much longer period.
Because several procedures may be performed together, different areas can heal at different rates.
Final results should therefore be evaluated after the tissues have had sufficient time to settle rather than during the early postoperative period.
Can I have children after a mommy makeover?
Having surgery does not necessarily prevent a future pregnancy, but pregnancy can stretch the abdominal tissues and breasts again and may alter the surgical result.
For this reason, patients who are actively planning another pregnancy may prefer to postpone body-contouring surgery.
Your future pregnancy plans should be discussed during consultation so that the timing of surgery can be considered appropriately.
How much does a mommy makeover cost in Turkey?
Because a mommy makeover is not one fixed operation, there is no single procedure combination that applies to every patient.
The cost depends on which surgeries are required, the extent of each procedure and the complexity of the overall surgical plan.
For example, tummy tuck with breast lift is a different operation from FDL tummy tuck, 360 liposuction and breast lift with implants.

Start with your individual mommy makeover assessment
You do not need to decide which combination of procedures you need before contacting us.
Send us clear photographs from the front, both sides and back, together with your height, weight, medical information, previous surgeries and the areas you would like to improve.
For breast assessment, photographs need to show the breast position clearly without clothing obscuring the anatomy.
Our medical team can then assess each area individually and determine which procedures may form the most appropriate surgical plan.
